The first step is to check the condition of your furniture. After a year, you can expect some wear and tear on the surfaces. For example, on the dining room table, where the wood loses its natural color and there may some scratches or marks.

The sofa is another piece of furniture that tends to suffer a lot of wear and tear. Whether it’s made of leatherette or leather, the surface erodes slightly and the material wears away. In the same way, the daily use of chairs can damage them, even if they’re metallic.

Once you’ve checked the condition of your furniture, it’s time to assess the situation and intervene to restore and improve its appearance. Only this way will you be able to achieve the desired result!

But they also suffer the most. On the other hand, those made of metal or glass generally suffer less. Let’s take a look at three steps to follow:

  1. Your table mustn’t be dirty. To clean it you can apply water and neutral soap. In order not to damage the wood, it’s better to carry out this process with a soft cotton cloth and avoid adding too much water.
  2. Once the surface dries, to remove the wear and tear, you must use steel wool and rub it with some pressure. Some varnish may remain. If this is the case, you can easily remove it with paper towels.
  3. Next, seal the pores and, finally, apply beeswax and carnauba wax. For a correct finish, rub it once again using a dry cotton cloth with white vinegar to make it shine.

As we commented above, the sofa is one of the pieces of furniture that suffers the most since people usually use it daily. In this case, those made of leatherette are more resistant and don’t tend to suffer as much. However, on the other hand, leather sofas tend to show more obvious wear and tear.

Before restoring the surface, you must clean the sofa with a sponge or brush and a special product for leather. Firstly, degrease the most worn areas.

Once you apply these products, clean with a sanding pad several times. Then, gently apply leather color repair. Make sure that it matches the color of the sofa! Finally, dry to accelerate the process.

Outdoor furniture tends to suffer more wear and tear. This is due to bad weather and the fact that people tend to use it a lot during the spring and summer. For this reason, we’re going to share some solutions to improve metal furniture wear and tear.

With a wire brush, you can lightly file the surface and, if necessary, use strong sandpaper for the most damaged areas. Remember that it’s very important to remove any traces of rust. Finally, remove all the dirt by brushing or with paper towels.

To finish the process, simply repaint the furniture. To do this, you must make sure you buy paint that’s suitable for metal. This way, you’ll be able to hide all the imperfections.
