Accessories can make a world of difference to your bathroom and make your life easier. We’ve got some great tips to help you choose your bathroom accessories according to the size, style, and people who will be using it.

Sink accessories

A great soap dish and toothbrush holder set can make all the difference to your sink. There’s a huge variety available on the market, with so many unique designs – like the one below.

A toothbrush holder and soap dish are great bathroom accessories for decorating your sink.

If you’ve got small children, it’s best not to choose glass or porcelain accessories, which can easily get broken. Instead, go for plastic bathroom accessories, which can withstand any knocks and bumps and will last longer.

Hooks and towel racks

So often, we end up choosing a plain hook that gets the job done, without paying attention to the aesthetics. From now on, look for a stylish towel rack that’ll make your bathroom look great. You can find these bathroom accessories in a wide range of materials and sizes. Plus, you don’t need to spend a lot to get a great towel rack, toilet roll holder and hook set.

Both hooks and towel racks are available in a wide range of materials, so you’re guaranteed to find one to suit your bathroom. Normally, they’re made from wood, plastic, chrome or brass.

If you decide to buy a metal towel rack, we recommend you go for one of the slightly more expensive models – the cheaper, lower quality ones tend to rust over time. If you’re on a budget, it’s best to choose a plastic or wooden model.

Simple wooden towel racks make great bathroom accessories.

Toilet accessories

Whatever the size or style of your bathroom, you’ll almost always end up going for a plain old boring white toilet roll holder with a matching toilet brush, but it’s so easy to find a better option.

If your bathroom is small, it’s best to choose a set that doesn’t take up too much space, but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style.

If you’re got a more spacious bathroom, a one-piece set is a great option. We love this unique idea, and there are plenty of styles to choose from.

Organizers

Here are some ideas on how you can keep everything tidy, while adding some extra decor to your bathroom.

  • Wicker baskets: available in all different colors and sizes, wicker baskets are increasingly popular. Laundry basket, towel storage, medicine cabinet – the possibilities are endless, and will give your bathroom that homely feel. They do take up quite a bit of space though, so they’re not the best option for smaller bathrooms.
  • Shelves: shelves are a great option if you’re short on space. Wood, plastic or metal, they’re perfect for storing make up, shower gel, shampoo… We recommend going for a corner shelf, to make the most of every inch of space.
  • Make up organizers: if you don’t have enough space for a dressing table, make up organizers are the perfect solution. Available in all different shapes and sizes, you’re sure to find one that can store all your make up. Usually transparent, they can adapt to fit any drawer. And they’re totally worth it when you open the drawer to see everything perfectly organized…

Other bathroom accessories

If you’re lucky enough to have lots of space, you can include some other extras, like a set of scales, a waste paper basket or other practical, but decorative items.

One last piece of advice: It’s all about creating a sense of harmony. Try to make sure that the style and color of your bathroom accessories match, or you might lose that harmony. Going overboard on accessories isn’t going to make your day-to-day life any easier, or your bathroom look any better. It’s just going to make the room look chaotic and overcrowded.
