What can you get from wooden pallets?

As we all know, wooden pallets are used for many different things. Mainly, they’re used in areas that need strength and support, especially in warehouses.

Usually, they’re discarded in bulk quantities. Maybe because they’ve lost their efficiency, are worn, or are broken. Don’t throw them away. They can be treated and restored to use as decor.

Give wooden pallets a new use and an interesting, original, and unique look.

A step-by-step guide to creating a table with wooden pallets

You can be a carpenter, to start working with the pallets, and turn them into a table. Of course, you need to be careful and protect the material while you work.

  • To create a center table in the living room, you need to use at least two pallets. You can screw one on top of the other, giving it stability and holding them in place.
  • Treat the wood with veneer and sealant. This way you’ll successfully treat the wood, so it won’t have any splinters or feel rugged to the touch.
  • On the top, you could place glass that covers all of the surface, so you can put things on top of it. If you’d like to, you could also place a wood panel on top, or leave the pallets au natural.
  • At the base of the table, you could leave it resting on the ground, or if it’s more convenient to you, screw some wheels to the corners to make it easier to move around.
  • When it’s time to treat the wooden furniture, you could leave the wood as it is, or paint it with a brush or spray paint it. It all depends on what look you want and your aesthetic needs. The idea is to match this new furniture with the rest of the room.

In combination with metal

Another interesting project would be using a pallet with four legs made of stainless steel. This is a good way to get a raised table. This can be used in small spaces, for example, the kitchen.

This kind of furniture is great for industrial, modern, modern rustic, and mid-century aesthetics. You’re using a functionality concept and a simple, yet inspiring, aesthetic.

Wood and glass

It’s worth noting that these materials aren’t closely related. However, you have the chance of combining them and creating a harmonious piece.

To create a table with both, you’ll have to turn the pallet upside down and place a big piece of glass on top. This way you can use it as a desk or table.

This element will fit wonderfully outdoors, in a reading nook, in a chill-out area, etc. It’s all a matter of giving your own personal touch to the room.
