We’ll also tell you about some of the different cleaning products you can usethey’re super low-cost, and you probably already have them at home. So, let’s get to it! 1. Cleaning your microwave oven – prepare your cleaning products

Some figure

To clean your microwave oven, you’re only going to need 3 things: water, cleaning vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. You’ll also need a glass or plastic microwave-safe bowl and a cloth.

Though it might seem strange, these simple, low-cost items will help your microwave look good as new in no time.

2. Grease removal treatment

It’s common for the inside of the microwave to become stained with grease over time. Try not to let it build up too much, as it will make it far more difficult to clean.

To remove any grease, start by adding half a cup of vinegar to 1/4 of a gallon of water. Then add 4 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda. Heat the mixture in the microwave for 5 minutes. Once heated, remove the bowl from the microwave. You should find that the grease is now softer, and much easier to remove.

3. Cleaning your microwave oven – eliminating grease

Once you’ve softened the grease, it’s time to remove it from your microwave. To do this, wet your cloth with lukewarm water. Next, simply wipe the grease stains with the cloth to remove them. Wipe down all the sides and corners of your microwave, and take out the plate to ensure you’ve removed every last inch of grease.

4. Cleaning the surfaces

Some figure

Your microwave is almost clean. All that’s left to do now is wipe down all the surfaces. Pour a small amount of vinegar onto a cloth. If the smell is too strong, you can dilute the vinegar with water.

Then, scrub the microwave inside and out until it’s spotless. Leave the door open for half an hour to allow it to dry properly, and to eliminate the smell of vinegar. And there you have it. With these 4 simple steps, your microwave oven will look good as new.

Don’t like vinegar? We have the solution!

Many people hate cleaning their home with vinegar. While it is a very effective cleaning product, we have to admit it does have a rather intense, acidic smell, which can be unpleasant.

One great alternative to vinegar is lemon. Cut a lemon in half and place one piece in a bowl of water. Follow the steps described earlier, substituting the vinegar with lemon. As long as the grease isn’t too tough, the results will be the same.
