Adding natural details to your interior decor is really low-cost, effective and easy to do. With these small decorations, you can give every room a fresh new look.

In this article, we’ll show you some of the different options on offer, so you can see just how easy it is to decorate with natural details. Take a look, and give your home a warm and welcoming look that all your guests will love.

Natural details – wicker baskets

Wicker baskets.

Wicker baskets never go out of fashion and can work well with any space or style. Plus, their great versatility means there are so many different ways to use them. And if that weren’t enough, wicker baskets are really low-cost. Most home stores sell them for a reasonable price, and in a variety of shapes and sizes.

In this next section, we want to show you some of the ways you can use them in your home. As well as being really stylish, these simple items can make your day-to-day life so much easier.

  • Wicker baskets are perfect for storing extra blankets. We all have days where we simply want to wrap ourselves up in a warm blanket, curl up on the couch and watch TV late into the night. However, these blankets often end up abandoned on the couch, making our living rooms look messy. One way to keep your room looking great and your blankets close-by when you need them is to keep them in a wicker basket next to your couch.
  • A children’s toy box. If you’re tired of finding toys strewn all around the house, a wicker basket is a great option. You could put them in the games room, the living room, or in your kids’ bedrooms. Giving your children a wicker basket can help get them into the habit of tidying up after themselves from a young age.

Wool rugs

Wool rugs.

This is perhaps one of the least common ways to decorate with natural elements. People normally buy synthetic rugs, as they’re a lot less expensive and really easy to clean. Natural fiber rugs, on the other hand, require a lot more care. That being said, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend buying one of these wonderful wool rugs.

The reason is simple – one touch, and you’ll discover that there really is no comparison between natural and synthetic rugs. Your children will be able to play comfortably on the floor for hours, and walk barefoot around the house.

Plus, vacuuming them regularly is enough to keep them looking good as new, year after year. Because they’re natural, they’re a lot more hard-wearing than synthetic rugs. Sometimes, it’s worth paying just that little bit more for great quality.

Natural details – flowers

When it comes to natural decor, flowers are a classic. They never go out of style and can bring life and joy to any room. Though they’re normally used to decorate for a special occasion, we would encourage you to fill your home with flowers all year round.

All you need to do is take a glass or ceramic vase, fill it with water, and add your flowers. If you choose to buy real flowers, you’ll need to take good care of them to make sure they stay in great condition for as long as possible. Do that, and their wonderful fragrance will fill your home for weeks.

Another, much simpler option is to use dried or artificial flowers. These don’t require any upkeep or care, and they’re much less expensive.

If someone gives you a bouquet of flowers for a special occasion, you can preserve them and keep them as a memento. All you need to do is place them face down, and give them a coating of hairspray once a day until they’re completely dried out.

Ceramic

No other natural element is as classical, or as on-trend as ceramic. Over the years, ceramic decorations have changed in shape, size, and design, evolving to keep up with the latest styles.

The only thing you need to consider before buying ceramic items for your home is that they are very fragile. Any knocks or bumps could easily cause your decorations to break. You’ll also need to be particularly careful if you have children. Not only could they break your ceramics, but they might also hurt themselves.

Decorating with natural elements is really simple. In this post, we’ve focused on ceramic, flowers, wool and wicker, but there are hundreds of other options to choose from. The important thing is to make your home look warm and welcoming, and make your day-to-day life that little bit brighter.
