3 Original Gift Wrapping Ideas
We normally prepare presents with wrapping paper and bows. But there are thousands of interesting and original ways to wrap gifts. If you’re tired of basic gift wrap and want to get creative, our post today is for you.
We’ll show you several original ideas to wrap your gifts. The wrapping options depend on the gift, who it is for and the occasion.
Wrapping gifts with originality
We have a few ideas to help you create your own gift wrap. After seeing our ideas, preparing gifts for adults and children with minimal materials will be a walk in the park.
1. Paper and fabric gift wrap
First is our original idea that uses fabric and paper. You’ll need the following materials:
- Kraft paper
- Fabric scraps
- Transparent tape
- String
To begin, cover the entire gift with the kraft paper. Kraft paper has a neutral color and you can find it at stationery stores if you don’t have any at home.
Once you’ve covered the gift entirely in kraft paper, take your fabric and ensure that it doesn’t have any frayed edges. These will make the end result look sloppy.
Fold the fabric several times so that its width is smaller than the gift. Wrap the gift vertically or horizontally with the fabric, covering the kraft paper.
To finish, take your string (the gift will look better if you match the colors of the string with the paper or fabric) and lay it vertically on the gift’s front side and on the back side, lay it horizontally and bring it back to the front and make a knot. Then make a bow. Now, you’ve wrapped your gift!
2. Gift bag for men
Not all gifts are box-shaped, so you can put your gift in a bag instead. We’re going to show you how to decorate a brown paper bag like a suit. You’ll need the following materials:
- Brown paper bag
- White construction paper
- Black construction paper
- Black buttons
- Glue
- Scissors
For this idea, we’re going to create a gift bag that looks like a formal suit with a dress shirt and bow-tie. To get started, cut out a rectangle from the white construction paper. Paste it onto the center of the bag.
Draw an outline a big bow-tie on the black construction paper and cut it out. Glue it onto the top part of the white rectangle.
Now, grab your buttons and glue them onto the center of the white rectangle in a vertical line, equally spacing them out. And hey presto – you’ve finished making your snazzy suit gift bag!
3. Gift snowman for children
The ways to prepare gifts for children are also endless. We’re going to take a look at how you can use two or more differently sized gifts to create an original snowman. You’ll need:
- White printer paper
- Orange construction paper
- Black marker
- Scarf
- Glue
- Scissors
If you’re planning on giving a child two gifts that are different sizes, get creative and use them to build a snowman. The bigger box will be the base (the body) and the smaller box will go on top (the snowman’s head).
Cover both boxes entirely with the white printer paper. After, draw the snowman’s face on the center of the small box with the marker. Then, make a small cone with your orange construction paper.
The cone will be the carrot nose. Glue it onto the snowman’s face.
Draw some buttons on the body of your snowman. Stack the smaller box on top of the bigger one. To finish, wrap the scarf around the snowman’s neck and make a nice bow.
Today, we’ve looked at three original ways to prepare gifts for different age groups. And the great thing is they only require a few materials along with your imagination.
