The use of sage green in the home

The cold is here! And with it comes that feeling of wanting to stay in bed all day and listen to the rain outside, right? For the scene to be perfect, you need winter bedding that’s warm and soft. Let’s take you through the upcoming trends so that you can tuck up in bed with style.

Ways to tuck up during winter

It doesn’t matter if you prefer to use only a fitted sheet and a duvet, or bedsheets and a comforter… Whatever the option, it’s all about finding comfortable, light, and warm materials.

Let’s start by dispelling the doubts – what’s the difference between a quilt, a comforter, and a duvet? We’ll explain:

  • Quilts are not usually very thick and they’re mostly decorative. Their filling is less than 150 g/m2 thick and they’re used in combination with a bedsheet, which makes them more suitable for the warmer seasons of the year, such as spring or early autumn.
  • Comforters usually have a quilted finish and the filling is about 250 g/m2 thick. They’re made of synthetic fibers or feathers, the latter being the most insulating from the cold. A comforter to match cotton sheets is a good idea for the colder seasons of the year.
  • Duvets are great if you’re looking for a comfortable and versatile solution. The best thing is that you can play with various levels of thickness to create the ideal temperature. They can be made of feathers or synthetic fibers, and they range from 125 g/m2 to 500 g/m2. You can change it depending on the season.
