Today we're going to show you some ideas from the Maison & Objet event a couple of years ago. They dedicated it to work and took it rather seriously. Do you want to know what went on at this interior design fair in Paris?
Maison & Objet - Work and Comfort

Last update: 08 July, 2020

Maison & Objet set out to make our workplaces feel like a real home. Although it may sound a little crazy to you, the truth is, for a long time, all the trends have pointed in that direction, since the more comfortable we feel, the better we’ll work and awaken our creativity.

This is the most important Parisian interior design fair worldwide and it usually takes place in September. Also, it has a different theme every year. For instance, the one a couple of years ago was an open call to transform workspaces into homey places. That is comfortable places where we can add our personal touch to every corner.

What you’ll find at Maison & Objet

For several decades we’ve been living in small cubicles or offices devoid of personality, such places were uncomfortable and cold. However, the good news is today we can have our own spaces where we work.

However, jobs have radically changed, and new generations have become constantly traveling digital nomads who prefer to have jobs they can do from the comfort of their homes (wherever they choose to settle).

We want pleasant environments that give us peace and well-being to be more productive and creative. So, this evolution has led the interior designers, furniture manufacturers, and retailers to create new workspaces that prioritize personality and comfort above anything else.

Deconstructing Maison & Objet

Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of this Parisian interior design trends fair! We’re going to explain how it’s divided so you can have an idea of what goes on in this bubble. At the very least it should inspire you to design a homey workspace.

Firstly, Maison & Objet is divided into two categories – Maison + Objet (simple, right?), and within each of the two, there are several specific subcategories.
