Creative storage solutions are important, especially if you have children. So, if you do, you’re probably fans of the most famous construction block toys in history, and worry about where to store them. The IKEA and LEGO groups have joined forces to bring you BYGGLEK. This is a creative storage solution to keep your LEGO pieces tidy without having to take apart your child’s creations.

Without a doubt, this is one of the most sought-after releases for everyone who enjoys long hours of fun assembling blocks. Do you want to learn more about it?

BYGGLEK – a creative storage solution

IKEA has been wanting to link with the LEGO group for some time. This collaboration will finally reach the shelves from October 1st. This will be the new BYGGLEK collection, a creative storage solution that consists of a series of boxes that use the brand’s interlocking system and a special set of LEGO bricks, to encourage play and creativity, and make cleaning up fun.

This will promote your child’s ability to play and make them learn the importance of organization in an easy and fun way.

The importance of playing

Some figure

Even IKEA knows that playing is the most intuitive and powerful way for children to learn and grow. By pretending, they can experiment and transform themselves into a cook or a fireman. Moments of abstraction makes their brain integrate everyday experiences.

For Andreas Fredriksson, designer at IKEA, and Rasmus Buch Løgstrup, designer at the LEGO group, making it easier to play at home was a priority, so they set to work. Rasmus explains, “LEGO bricks aren’t something you take with you when you visit a friend or play outside. It’s very connected to the home. It’s a product for the home.”

The Swedish store conducted the study “The role of play in children’s development of skills for social change” together with the Complutense University of Madrid, the Ashoka Foundation, UNICEF, and IKEA.

Among the important data collected from this study are the different ways children and adults view play at home. Adults see homes as a place where children need structure and organization. Children, on the other hand, see a stimulating, creative environment that goes between play, rest, and back to play in a natural manner.

They claim that when a child’s space is cleaned and reorganized while they’re playing, not only is their play interrupted, but also their creative expression halts.

This is why these companies wanted to create a storage solution that would offer a fun playful experience and that’s how BYGGLEK boxes came about.

What’s this creative storage solution like?

These boxes are equipped with the LEGO interlocking system at the top and front. This way children can integrate the storage boxes into their LEGO constructions. They can store their adventures inside them, and then display their creations on top of them.

The following are among the most important features of this incredible storage system:

  • It allows you to build in, out, and around BYGGLEK.
  • You can connect several boxes at once.
  • Organization won’t be a problem because it gives you the option of keeping the LEGO bricks inside.
  • You’ll be able to exhibit your child’s masterpiece in the same box. In addition, it’ll always be accessible and in harmony with the rest of the home.
  • You or your children will be able to continue playing at any time and in any place without having to assemble and disassemble their constructions every two or three days.

For Andreas Fredriksson it’s clear, “You can play and take a break without having to scatter your whole project on the floor.” Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?

BYGGLEK is a creative storage solution that’ll appeal to both children and adults and promises to let their imagination fly.

If your kids love LEGO blocks, forget about stepping on them all over the house. Finally, they’ll have a place to live. This storage solution is available online and in stores.
